September 2020 Volunteer of the Month

Batman and Robin, Bonnie and Clyde, Tom and Jerry … and now, TSgt. Thomas Russel Hagmaier and TSgt. Bridget Rose Sargent! We are excited to have this dynamic duo as our Volunteers of the Month for USO Incirlik.

Both “TR” and Bridget came to the USO in late summer, and have made an extraordinary impact in only a short time. With more than 700 hours between them, these two outstanding Tech Sargents volunteer their valuable off-duty time by assisting in all aspects of center operations. This includes working the front desk, setting up and working special events, training and orienting new volunteers and generally jumping up and taking action regardless of the task. Add to this their taking on keeping the Center open for the late night NFL Viewing Parties – and we mean LATE NIGHT – from midnight through the morning - and also cooking snacks to keep the late night revelers nourished!

Bridget, as the Manager of PV and our neighbor, always has our back to ensure that the Center is covered and has encouraged all of her staff to sign up as volunteers. And TR never turns down a task; from volunteering at our Waffles to Go program, to doing last minute shopping runs to help keep the Center stocked. Both use and share their knowledge and skills to help others, make new volunteers feel like a valued part of our USO family, and most importantly, are mentors to our volunteers and patrons. When they both redeploy in October, they will be sorely missed, but fondly remembered.
