February 2021 Volunteer of the Month
As far as amazing volunteers go, you don’t have to look far to find our Volunteer of the Month Chris Welke front and center. Chris consistently goes above and beyond with keeping our Center always open for patrons, is a helping hand when we are preparing for programming, during clean up and during grocery hauls. Chris is a prime example who embodies the USO’s core values of accountability, responsibility and respect. During staff turnover when two staff members were in ROM and one was out-processing, Chris was consistently available and filled in gaps in hours to ensure that our only staff member did not have to handle the load alone. During football season he was available and willing to keep our Center open overnight for football fans! His reliability and consistency are proof of his dedication to our center and patrons and even to other volunteers; conducting volunteer orientations and assisting with getting them onboarded. Having joined at the end of October, Chris has been able to amass over 600 volunteer hours! In addition to his work ethic, Chris’ smile and calm demeanor make him a joy to have as a volunteer, and we truly could not have fulfilled our mission at IAB without his essential helping hand. From your family at USO Incirlik, congratulations on this achievement.
