November 2022 Volunteer of the Month
The USO’s mission of fostering a “home away from home” is truly what Himanshu “Chop” Chopra sets out to do every time he volunteers at the USO.
In his short time with us, Chop has logged over 150 hours and counting! One of the first projects he tackled was leading the efforts of cleaning and organizing our storage unit. Since then, he has become part of our Lead Volunteer crew, helping us keep the center open when needed, especially during many of the World Cup matches. Chop has such an authentic way of connecting with anyone who enters the center. He takes on a very proactive role in maintaining the center through keeping it organized, recruiting and training new volunteers, and using his resources in Incirlik to advocate for the USO. Most recently, Chop co-hosted our December 4th Taste of Home, serving up some amazing butter chicken and Japanese curry. We love having him around and can’t imagine USO Incirlik without him!
