June 2023 Volunteer of the Month
Alexandria Lee is June’s Volunteer of the Month!
From the first week Alexandria arrived at Incirlik, she prioritized locating the USO to attend a weekend brunch. That brunch led to her sharing her passions, vision, and ideas she desired to coordinate with the Incirlik community, and in the same day, Alexandria quickly signed up to become a volunteer. She has been a force and USO advocate behind the scenes, being sure we were included in base programs and events, especially for the month of June. Alexandria facilitated Juneteenth programming for the entire base and co-planned the USO’s Juneteenth Bougie’ Brunch. She also supported in being sure Pride Month programming was present for our community. Her inclusive collaboration and innovative thought process is what make her stands out and illustrates how she operates in excellence in all that she does.
Alexandria’s presence and efforts reminds us that serving as a volunteer can be illustrated in many ways. We appreciate and value all our volunteers, especially and including those who do not mind working behind the scenes. They remind us to be creative in our outreach while we continue with a mission first focus. Alexandria has demonstrated this and more throughout June, and she’s just getting started. She is now working to co-host a new program for the USO Incirlik community. The “Writer’s Room” will premiere July 20, and we’re excited to see how this evolves and supports our service members to hone their writing skills and self-expression. Thanks, Alexandria, for your service to the USO Incirlik community!
