May 2023 Volunteer of the Month

Our Volunteer of the Month for May is Jerry Lara!

Jerry is one of our newest volunteers, beginning with us in April of this year. Since beginning his service with USO Incirlik, Jerry has not only accumulated over 100 hours, but he’s also become our newest Lead Volunteer. Jerry has been a volunteer who is able to wear many hats. We can always count on him to manage the daily center operations of opening, closing, or being present for multiple hours throughout the week. He also has become a center’s favorite for baking. Jerry has baked over 150 chocolate chip cookies for the USO Incirlik table for Larger Than Life and Spring Fling weekend, helped make chocolate covered and peanut butter stuffed dates for volunteers during Volunteer Appreciation Week, and recently made artisan chocolate chip cookies filled with s'mores for the center.
