October 2023 Volunteer of the Month
It’s with great enthusiasm that we introduce our October 2023 Volunteer of the Month, Norgie Rivera Acevedo! 🌟🎉
Norgie’s vibrant personality is like a ray of sunshine at the USO. His fun and outgoing demeanor instantly brightens up the center, creating an atmosphere of warmth and positivity that’s truly infectious. He’s the kind of person who not only brings a smile to your face but leaves you feeling better just from being around him. Norgie’s enthusiasm for what he does is palpable, and it’s an integral part of what makes him so special.
One of Norgie’s standout contributions this month has been his role in recruiting and training new volunteers. He brings newcomers into the fold and takes the lead in providing them with the basics. He doesn’t just volunteer; he’s building a community.
Beyond that, another thing that stands out about Norgie is his initiative. He’s always one step ahead, taking the lead in various center operations. Whether it’s helping staff during transitional periods or ensuring the basic needs of the center are met, he embodies our core values of “Mission First” and “Do the Right Thing.” His vigilance and attention to detail ensure that nothing falls through the cracks, which contributes to the excellence we aim for at the USO.
This month, Norgie has truly exemplified that essence of initiative. He’s taken on additional responsibilities with grace and enthusiasm, consistently going above and beyond to ensure that the USO runs smoothly. This commitment to collaboration has been invaluable during staff transitions. Not only does he support the USO through major events like Taste of Home, such as those organized by the Hispanic Heritage Council and the ACE Council, but he’s also been a constant reminder of the small but essential tasks that make a huge impact. Whether it’s tackling laundry, taking out the trash, creating rotator bags, doing extra shifts, or ensuring that the commissary grocery list is complete, Norgie’s dedication to our mission shines through. He’s a prime example of “Accountability” in action.
Norgie’s consistent support of the center extends beyond the day-to-day operations. He’s always ready to provide essential information about base operations, aligning perfectly with our “Mission First” core value. Norgie’s dedication and unwavering commitment to the USO and our military community have left an indelible mark on the center, making him a truly deserving Volunteer of the Month. His exemplary actions embody the core values that the USO holds dear, and we’re deeply grateful for his service.
Thank you, Norgie, for being a beacon of positivity, initiative, and dedication at the USO, and for living out our core values every day. Your impact is immeasurable, and we’re proud to have you as our Volunteer of the Month.
