November 2023 Volunteer of the Month

It’s with immense joy and gratitude that we shine the spotlight on our November Volunteer of the Month, the incredible Shawn Hewitt!

Whether it’s covering the center when staff needs a helping hand, sorting through 40 boxes of donations, or simply asking, “What else is needed?” Shawn embodies the Mission First and Do The Right Thing mentality with unwavering dedication. Shawn is a role model who consistently demonstrates excellence in his work. His commitment to bringing new ideas to the center and actively participating in various initiatives showcases his passion for making a positive impact.

Shawn’s baking skills have also added a delightful touch to our center. His love for baking not only fills our space with tempting aromas but also brings smiles to everyone who indulges in his delicious creations. He is the epitome of initiative. From training new volunteers to initiating the charming decoration of our center with kids’ art and letters, he’s a driving force behind the positive atmosphere we cherish. As if that wasn’t enough, Shawn is set to bring his enthusiasm helping with Monday Movie Night in December, adding another layer of entertainment for our community.

Since joining us in August, Shawn has dedicated almost 200 hours of his time, bringing not just his skills but also his heart to our community. We’re grateful for his previous contributions at Spangdahlem’s and Kaiserslautern’s USOs and events. Thank you, Shawn, for being an invaluable part of our USO family.
